Believe in yourself, anything is possible.

Growing up I was far from confident. But one thing I have always had was the belief in myself. It may seem contradictory but I had reason to believe that anything could be possible, and I proved it to myself over and over again. I made my “bucket list” after watching ”A Walk to Remember”. In a pretty purple and pink notebook. It started small but quickly grew to 4 pages, front and back, of things I wanted to accomplish.

The list was filled with simple like getting my first tattoo, to big dreams like going to a movie premier and building my dream house. I had locations I wanted to travel to and experiences I anted to have in my list. I tucked the book away and didn’t give it much thought until we moved. When I re-discovered my notebook I decided to check out the list and see what I had done.

I couldn’t really remember all of them after so much time had passed. To my surprise I was able to cross off several items. I had visited Atlantis in the Bahamas, got a tattoo (several by this point), gone whale watching, and even attended a movie premier in Italy. I decided to expand on my list and to keep checking in. Being a goal-oriented person I loved getting to cross off accomplishments on this list and I kept growing and changing directions with all that I saw possible.

Now the notebook is lost in all my memorabilia but I keep my own “To Do List”. I have found that some of my biggest goals have been accomplished through two means. Time and belief. The belief that it is possible. I can see the Eiffel Tower and create the life I want. I believe that my book will hit shelves and sell out several times over. I know that if I keep writing I will have best sellers and more books to come.

Even when I had what I thought was no confidence, I always had the belief that I could make anything I wanted happen. I could set a goal and accomplish it. I could watch my dreams unfold in front of me. I could shoot for the starts, that’s where all the best dreams live.

Now I want to remind myself and my daughter, anything is possible and you are the means. Believe in yourself.

Just a short list of what I am happy to celebrate from my list:

Visit Italy

Graduate college

Pass my CPA

Build a home I love

Have a family

Publish my book

Have my bachelorette in Las Vegas

Donate to charities I love

Be in a photo shoot

Do a backflip (on a trampoline)

Taking singing lessons and performing on a stage
