Always fly a kite...

Thanks to Mary Poppins, we always have to sing the song when we see a kite. But thanks to kites we always have to look up. Such a simple design, two sticks and some paper. Once assembled this simple object takes flight.

Just like everything in life, if you put it together the right way and the conditions are ideal it can soar. Up into the atmosphere we watch these diamonds dance around in the sky. Taking inspiration from our beautiful dollar store kite from Gamma, we are going to fly.

Add some wind and a few tails and we are off. My family has made our spot in the sky, we have an amazing daddy who found inspiration a few years ago to start his own business. Something that really is such a bold and brave move. But the best decision for all of us. Now his business is growing and more and more doors are opening for him.

Our daughter has found her stride in communication with us and balancing her hesitations with her need for fun. Something you don’t see coming as a parent is all the times you need to hold your child’s hand metaphorically. Not just by helping them walk, but helping them thrive and grow. But even in this crazy pandemic world she is doing so well and finding the best way to be herself.

My space in the sky is twisting and turning like the tail. What started with a funny joke about bagels has grown so much. My book is out and going through copyright agents to get a film adaptation. My second book has been started even though I did take a few weeks off progressing further, all to start a whole other twist. A few weeks ago I started a children’s book. Now I have finished the pages and my illustrator is almost done designing “Roscoe”.

So let that wind grab you and your tails. Let it lift you up higher and higher. Dance up there and look down at how far you have gone. Go right to the end of the string then go higher still.
